Criminal Investigation:
Criminal Investigations is comprised of 4 Investigators, a Forensic Technician and a Secretary commanded by a Sergeant. Criminal Investigations is responsible for the investigation, apprehension, and preparation for prosecution of criminal cases and the recovery of stolen property.

Forensic Unit:
The Forensic Unit maintains the chain of custody for all evidence and property seized or impounded by the Longwood Police Department.

Road Patrol:
Patrol provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week coverage to protect the life and property of the citizens and visitors of the City of Longwood. The Uniform Patrol Officers act as the first responders to calls for immediate police service providing a timely response to reported crimes in progress.

K-9 Unit:
The Longwood Police Department employs three full-service Police K-9 Teams, comprising either a Bloodhound, Labrador retriever, or German shepherd and their police officer handler.

School Resource / Focus on Safety:
The officer acts as an adviser, role model, and educator, teaching various programs (Focus on Safety) and working in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and administrators in a community-oriented police setting. The SRO is a program designed to help maintain the excellent standards of education and safety already in place.
