Divisions and Services:
Investigations Division:
The Investigations Division handles the following incidents for the Department: Person Crimes, Property Crimes, Narcotics, Internal Investigations, and Employee Background Investigations.
Patrol Division:
Patrol officers are the first point of contact for the public when calling in a complaint, reporting a crime, or during traffic enforcement. The Department is separated into two squads. Each squad is tasked with preventing and investigating crimes.
Traffic Homicide:
Traffic Homicide Investigations was established to meet the Wauchula Police Departments’ desire to provide a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances resulting in all traffic-related deaths within the city limits of Wauchula.
Motor Unit:
The motorcycle unit allows officers to patrol neighborhoods in order to focus on traffic enforcement and motor vehicle complaints within the City.
Support Services:
This section of the Department maintains records, facilitate communications between the Department and the State Attorney’s Office, handle finance, employee records, training records, act as a liaison between the Department and other City departments, and many other essential functions of this Agency.
School Crossing Guard:
The School Crossing Guards assists children and families in their daily commute to and from school. They protect the children of this community as they cross roadways and intersections in the busiest traffic areas during designated school times.
Animal Control:
Animal Control is responsible for keeping the community safe from large animals. Just as important as protecting the community is protecting animals from neglect and abuse.
