Volusia Regional Juvenile Detention Center is located in Daytona Beach, FL, and serves the counties of Volusia, Flagler, and St. Johns. This is a hardware secure facility with 50 beds, and it is in a small city, located in the North Region.

Andrea Akins is the Superintendent. Pamela Thomas and Jammie Cooks are the Assistant Superintendents. The detention center serves children in grades 6-12. It functions as an alternative school. As of the 2018-2019 school year, it had 51 students, with 4 full-time teachers. Juveniles in this facility are provided with education, healthcare, mental healthcare, and drug abuse programs.

Visitation

Visitation is available on Wednesday and Sunday. Approved visitors are parents, grandparents, and legal guardians. Legal counsel, clergy, and law enforcement are also permitted to visit. Others may visit only with the approval of the superintendent or by court order. All visitors must sign in with photo ID. All visitors may be electronically searched and may not bring in personal items.
